Getting Started
Walking you through the first steps.
Log In with Wallet
Being a blockchain-based web3 platform, Ownity’s only log-in prerequisite is that you have a crypto-compatible wallet. This feature allows for an almost instant start.
Ownity supports:
WalletConnect Protocol (allows you to log in with dozens of different wallet solutions.)
Use your existing wallet to log in to Ownity with the homonymous button, or create one with just a couple of clicks to gain complete access to the platform’s functionality.
Remember to write down and keep your wallet’s seed – aka recovery – phrase in a secure place.
(i) Ensure you picked an Ethereum-compatible solution. Today, Ownity supports Ethereum’s native ETH coin and NFTs created on its network, with further cryptos on their way to be available for you to trade NFTs and NFT fractions.
Having ensured you have installed an Ethereum-compatible crypto wallet, let’s go to the Ownity homepage and look for the “Launch App” button in the upper right corner. Click it to open the “Log in with Wallet” window.

For this guide, let’s go for MetaMask, as it’s arguably the most popular, trusted, and advanced wallet out there today and the most likely one to be used with Ownity.
So we click “MetaMask”.

Next, hit “Sign” in your MetaMask’s “Signature Request” window that opened up, to confirm you want to enter and finish logging in.

At this point, you’re all set for your NFT fractionalization journey. Your wallet address will be visible in the upper right corner where the “Launch App” button once was, which means you’ve logged in successfully.

See, we told ya it’s that easy to get started with Ownity!
Homepage
Ownity’s homepage features an aggregator search bar capable of giving you results for any live top collection’s NFT listing across all the supported major marketplaces.

There are two main homepage sections, “Live Fractionalization” and “Hottest Collections”.

“Live Fractionalization” provides you with the most recent and notable OpenSea, LooksRare, and X2Y2 listings where at least one user has already claimed a fraction on Ownity, i.e. deposited the necessary amount of funds equal to a certain percentage of the NFT’s listing price to become the owner of that NFT once it’s 100% fractionalized and automatically bought out from the original marketplace.
The section enables you to
1️⃣ Hop straight to buying a fraction of an NFT by opening the “Buy Fraction” window on the listing’s Ownity page
2️⃣ Go to all the live fractionalizations on Ownity
3️⃣ Scroll over to see more hot ongoing fractionalizations
We’re going to walk you through buying NFT fractions and using Ownity’s NFT aggregator right below.

“Hottest Collections” ranks, for your convenience, the Ownity-supported prominent collections by their key performance indicators such as 24h volume, floor price, and owner count. It also shows their total supply.
When on the homepage, go for either the “Explore Marketplaces” or “Marketplace” button to reach Ownity’s powerful aggregator augmented with fractionalization functionality, which we call the Fractionalization Marketplace.

Exploring Top Marketplaces

Ownity’s Fractionalization Marketplace aggregates the listings, displaying them as available for co-purchase. It also shows which of the NFTs are currently being fractionalized on Ownity and how far along a fractionalization is so you can find one to jump in right away and claim your very own fraction.
1️⃣ Toggle between the “All NFTs” tab containing the marketplace functionality and the “Activity” tab showing the latest NFT fractionalization, co-owner DAO voting, and fractions activity by Ownity users.
2️⃣ Search for top NFT collection listings by name, collection, or ID across all the supported marketplaces.
3️⃣ Hit a listing card to go to its Ownity page which provides the NFT info and enables the key fractionalization features.
4️⃣ Switch “Live Fractionalization” on to see all the NFTs that are currently being fractionalized on Ownity.
